In March 2006 »ORION« BULKERS placed its first newbuilding order ever in the People's Republic of China for a triplet of high specification capesize bulk carriers. The ships are being constructed at the leading major capesize builder Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipyard. The vessels are to be employed in the world-wide carriage of coal and iron ore needed for steel production in the industrializing countries.
